Jan 2005 Jim Capaldi

I was saddened to hear of the death of Jim Capaldi this weekend. I opened a few dates for Jim on his 2003 UK tour. Jim was massively talented; a big funny man and kind to everyone around him. - Guy

Jan 2005  AMP Awards

Website AMP named Guy as the top Unsigned act of 2004. See AMP Top 5. "Guy is a hidden treasure. He is one of those artists who should have a massive record deal, be loved by millions and be a household name throughout the world. He has a voice that is so distinctive that once heard, it will be in your head forever. His guitar style is quite simply out of this world. Guy is a prolific singer, songwriter, who gives us songs, which are genuine and full of honesty. A talent, which is so often overlooked in modern day songwriting. Guy is without a doubt the greatest unsigned artist AMP has come across this year!"

Alone In Blue was no 9 in their Top 10 Albums of 2004. The other artists in their top 10 were The Libertines, The Streets, Razorlight, Kings of Leon, Kasabian, The Ordinary Boys, The Shins, Embrace and Franz Ferdinand.

Nov 2003

Another busy month which started with a full UK tour supporting 3Men & Black and was followed at the end of the month by a number of support gigs for Jim Capaldi. The gig at the Marrs Bar in his home town of Worcester was epic and Steve Winwood joined in on guitar for 25 mins of the set. Steve also insisted on having one of Guy's CDs.

Aug 2003

It has been an eventful couple of months for Guy. On June 28th Guy played the 2003 Jazz Fest Wien in Austria, one of Europe's most estalished Jazz and Blues festivals. He shared the same bill as Johnny Winter, the legendary American Blues guitarist. He came on stage and spoke to the crowd in German telling them it was his first visit and how beautiful their city was. Just to make certain he had their attention he opened with 'Bubblegum Tree (Eden Road CD).' By the end of the first song he had the 8000 audience with him for the remainder of his set. Over the summer, Guy also played at a private party thrown by Michael Eavis for the organisers of the Glastonbury festival. The entertainment for the evening was Guy and Dennis Locorriere (Dr Hook's lead singer). Dennis opened the bill and Guy followed!
